I like the juxtaposition of the children and the looming dragons. The youths' pose is that of a studio shoot and shows signs of them being friendly with each but the dragons seem almost menacing at first glance. Upon closer inspection, Valgarv seems more protective and it's really Ragradia's toothy "crocodile smile" that makes him look menacing.
It's that the first thing that caught my attention was Ragradia's toothiness and I subconsciously reflected that upon the purple dragon, who I perhaps mistook for Valgarv. After looking at it a bit longer, I can't see either of the dragons being depicted as aggressive at all. The "crocodile smile" is neither a depiction of aggression or a placating gesture, it's a neutral physical trait. It was a case of quick assumptions of one's behavior, based on their physical characteristics, which is a mentality that you seem quite advocate on criticizing.
